The photo shows Sarah (as she then was - she's now Katherine) on the left, and Eleanor, on the island of Nananu-i-Ra, off the north coast of Viti Levu, Fiji's main island, which is in the background, in December 1984. We were staying there on a holiday with Jenny's family. As far as I can remember I was looking southwest, obviously at sunset. The photo was posed. Eleanor had found a stick, so we found one for Sarah, and I got them to look up to their left, out of the frame. I can't remember anything about the camera. It might not even have been mine. The scan is from an ancient print which has degraded somewhat. With all its shortcomings, it's definitely the best photo I've ever taken.
