1. Which is the oldest world religion?

Hinduism.

2. Which religion's adherents read the Quran?

Islam.

3. Which religion's founder lived in India c. 5th century BCE?

Buddhism. He may have been Gautama or Siddhartha.

4. The adherents of which religion believe that their god was also born as a human being who lived and was killed and then came back to life again?

Christianity.

5. The adherents of which Abrahamic religion read the Torah?

Judaism. Also very old, but its beginning can be given an approximate date, unlike that of Hinduism.

6. Which religion's members follow The Way?

Taoism. The Tao or Dao is 'The Way'.

7. The three pillars of which religion are non-violence, non-absolutism, and asceticism?

Jainism.

8. Which religion developed from the spiritual teachings of Guru Nanak (1469-1539)?

Sikhism.

9. The adherents of which religion are animists who believe in supernatural entities called the kami?

Shinto.

10. The adherents of which religion believe in a deity called Ahura Mazda from which emanates the life force Asha?

Zoroastrianism.

I gave these answers to a friend who is a scholar in the field of comparative religion, asking him to check them before I posted the quiz to Facebook.. He found so many matters that were 'arguable' or doubtful that he didn't even tell me that until we met five days later.

There were animistic religions before Hinduism; some Buddhists do not see their practice as a "religion" but rather a "philosophy" or way of life; there were other deities in Zoroastrianism, including Mithra. And so on.
