Black Comedy/The White Liars, 1968

I remember well the conceit of Peter Shaffer's Black Comedy. The play begins in total darkness: when the lights go out in the fiction they come on in reality. It's a brilliant [!] idea which I thought worked really well. James Bolam (whom I knew from The Likely Lads) was in it, and Liz Fraser, and some guy called Ian McKellen.
